Compensation: $81,000-$86,000/year

 

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid, on-site 3 days a week)

 

The base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. Actual total compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist serves as a key member of the People & Places team and acts as a trusted resource for employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Business Partners, this role provides day-to-day HR support while partnering closely with the HRBP team to deliver people programs, employee relations support, onboarding, compliance activities, and organizational initiatives.

The HR Generalist combines strong customer service, operational excellence, and problem-solving skills to help create a positive employee experience. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys supporting employees and managers, improving processes, leveraging technology and AI-enabled tools, and contributing to a collaborative, people-focused culture.

 

Essential Functions

Employee & Manager Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager questions regarding policies, benefits, onboarding, employee programs, and general HR guidance.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and customer-focused support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Support new hire onboarding and employee orientation activities.
  • Assist employees in navigating HR resources, processes, and programs.
  • Partner with managers and employees to help address workplace concerns and escalate matters as appropriate.

 

HRBP Team Support

  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners to support employee relations matters, organizational initiatives, and people programs.
  • Assist with documentation, follow-up actions, and coordination related to employee relations cases, investigations, performance management, accommodations, and leave administration.
  • Support workforce planning, talent initiatives, engagement activities, and organizational change efforts as needed.
  • Participate in cross-functional People & Places projects and initiatives.

 

 

Employee Relations

  • Support the resolution of employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Assist with performance management processes, corrective action documentation, and employee communications.
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
  • Provide guidance on policies and procedures while ensuring consistency and fairness.

 

Compliance & HR Operations

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support employment verification, documentation, recordkeeping, and audit activities.
  • Assist with leave of absence and accommodation processes in partnership with HRBPs and People Operations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR system data.

 

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experiences, and team efficiency.
  • Utilize HR systems, reporting tools, automation, and AI-enabled technologies to streamline work and improve service delivery.
  • Support data collection, reporting, and analysis to help inform people-related decisions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of People & Places programs and processes.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and employment practices.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR technology platforms.
  • Curiosity and comfort using AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and the employee experience.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a generalist, coordinator, specialist, or related HR role.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, and HR operations preferred.
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS platforms preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
