Compensation range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Position Summary

Location:  Seattle, WA

Days: Monday - Friday

 

The Finance Intern supports the Finance team during a paid summer internship by contributing to core financial planning, reporting, data analysis, and process improvement work while gaining exposure to how a multi-service workplace solutions business operates. This role is designed to provide meaningful project-based experience, clear learning objectives, supervision, and hands-on assignments.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Support recurring finance and reporting activities, including data gathering, validation, and analysis for monthly reporting packages and management insights.
  • Assist with revenue, gross margin, operating expense, backlog, and project-related analysis across One Workplace's furniture, construction, technology, and services activities.
  • Prepare Excel-based schedules, variance analyses, dashboards, and summary materials for Finance leadership.
  • Help organize financial and operational data from multiple systems and sources to improve consistency, visibility, and decision support.

Forecasting & Planning Support

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial modeling projects under the guidance of Finance leadership.
  • Support scenario analysis tied to sales activity, project timing, service delivery, and business trends in a dealership and project-based operating environment.
  • Participate in analyzing trends and key performance indicators relevant to a commercial interiors business, such as bookings, backlog, revenue conversion, margins, and operating expenses.

Process Improvement & Special Projects

  • Contribute to summer project work focused on improving finance processes, reporting accuracy, automation, or data quality.
  • Help document finance workflows, reporting definitions, and standard procedures to support scalability and stronger internal discipline.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects with Accounting, Operations, Sales, or other business partners as appropriate.
  • Present findings and recommendations from assigned internship projects at the end of the program.

Learning & Team Contribution

  • Learn the fundamentals of finance support within a private, multi-service workplace solutions company.
  • Work closely with assigned mentors and team members to develop business acumen, technical skills, and professional communication habits that are important in finance internships.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Prior internship, campus leadership, case competition, or analytical project experience is a plus.
  • Interest in corporate finance, FP&A, accounting, business operations, or data analytics within a real operating company environment.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

·         Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint and data visualization or reporting tools is a plus.

·         Ability to organize data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.

·         Curiosity about how projects, product mix, and service delivery affect financial performance in a commercial interiors and dealership environment.

·         Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

·         Professionalism, integrity, and willingness to learn from feedback.

 

Internship Details

·         Paid summer internship position.

·         Expected to work a defined weekly schedule during the summer program, with exact dates and hours to be established by One Workplace's hiring team.

·         Hybrid work environment, with on-site collaboration in Santa Clara expected based on business needs and internship programming, consistent with One Workplace's headquarters location and regional office footprint.

            ·           Internship should include supervision, developmental feedback, and meaningful project work that helps the intern                         understand both the business and the finance function.
