Compensation range: $113,000 - $121,000 yearly

 

Location: San Francisco (hybrid on-site 3 days)

Position Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and evangelizes the OWP design engagement approach.
  • Systematizes, develops, and facilitates creative engagement workshops and activities.
  • Key influencer in shaping the design organization strategic plan
  • Takes ownership of specific design initiatives, engagements, and design process improvements.
  • Participates in showroom updates and vignette designs and helps maintain showroom experience.
  • Contributes to establishing One Workplace as a destination and resource for innovative businesses and organizations.
  • Partners at a leadership level with clients, consultants, partners, and influencers.
  • Partners with One Workplace Marketing to develop internal and external communications that shape the One Workplace brand identity.
  • Partners with Sales Leadership to identify market opportunities and shape and lead our RFP approach.
  • Partners with Leadership to accomplish One Workplace business and strategic objectives.
  • Manage multiple key projects and engagements.
  • Engage with customer to gather project information (surveys, interviews, data collection, observations) and to uncover customer challenges.
  • Leads creative efforts for key projects, to include directing customer engagement, programming, data collection, conceptual design, shaping design vision, design development, and presentation of customer deliverables, or one-of-a-kind solutions.
  • Prepare design proposals, lead RFP responses, and post bid project interviews.
  • Identifies new products and project solutions by seeking out and forming relationships with new vendors and artisans.
  • Proactively anticipates customer needs and develops deep/lasting professional customer relationships
  • Shares trends, innovations, and new resources with the Design team through the curation of ancillary libraries.
  • Attend industry events and peer networking opportunities.
  • Membership in industry professional organizations required.
  • Generates and presents new ideas, insights, and thought leadership at industry events and conferences.
  • Works with new business sales to develop and host One Workplace Design sponsored industry events.
  • Mentors other team members in learning and adopting creative leadership skills.
  • Mentor Design team on engagement methodologies including hosting internal workshops, educational presentations, and teaching One Academy Live courses.
  • Responsible for individual tasks and duties as well as overall project results, outcomes, and influence on design and sales division results / outcomes.
  • Track billable time entries as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.  Associate Art’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school will be considered. 
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience desired.  Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or National Architecture Board (NAB) accreditation preferred. 
  • Two or more professional certifications required: NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP, EDAC, 6 Sigma, PMI, etc.

  • Expert proficiency in a variety of software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office. CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign desired.
  • Expert level knowledge of commercial furniture products and systems furnishings.
  • Expert ability to apply interior design principles, to include texture, color, form, function, materiality balance, rhythm, repetition, proximity, symmetry, biophilia, historical precedent, sustainability, Gestalt, symbolism, cognition, and perception.
  • Expert ability to deliver full-service interior design solutions including, architectural finishes, lighting, furnishings, and décor.
  • Expert level understanding of building codes, regulations, ADA.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to draw/sketch by hand.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with ability to provide solutions to client needs.
  • Complex reading and writing skills, basic math skills, judgement/decision making, analysis/comprehension.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterity, and ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, ability to get to project sites.

Working Environment

Generally, works in an office environment with moderate noise.  Nature of work may require time spent out of the office at client location or other One Workplace offices. Reliable access to transportation required.  Periodically works outside and may work around moving objects, dust, and dirt.
