Base salary range: $115,00-$125,000/year

Position Summary

The Shared Service Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the operational accounting area of accounts payable, credit card program, and employee reimbursable expenses. This highly motivated individual will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient processing of transactions across different business units, all while focusing on process improvement and cost optimization within the shared services model. The Accounts Payable Manager reports directly to the Controller.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals responsible for the A/P shared service function, including performance evaluations, coaching, and staff development. 
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Month-End Close Process: Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled, and deadlines are met.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks, including documentation, monitoring, and remediation of control deficiencies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, automate tasks, and enhance efficiency within the shared services function. 
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting regulations, including SOX compliance, and manage audit processes with internal and external auditors
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments across the organization, including operations, sales, and procurement, to address accounting related issues and provide timely financial information.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the shared services accounting function, such as days sales outstanding (DSO), days payable outstanding (DPO), and cycle time. 
  • Assist with other company initiatives or projects as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams in a shared services environment
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • Expertise in accounting software and systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
