Compensation range: $79,000- $90,000 Yearly 

 

Location: Santa Clara, CA (hybrid, 3 days a week in office)

Position Summary

The CORE General Accountant manages all activities in the billing function which triggers the recognition of revenue and cost of goods sold. Implementation of policies and procedures that ensure timely and accurate billing of customers and management of inventory balances. The CORE General Accountant works closely with sales teams to resolve issues in compliance with established guidelines. This role reports to Finance Business Operations Manager.  All Finance Team members work to ensure smooth workflow in a manner consistent with the Company’s 5 Star Customer Service directive.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the accurate month-end closing of revenue, cost of goods sold and inventory balances, resulting in timely delivery of accurate data for management reporting.
  • Responsible for direct reconciliation of the detailed inventory sub-ledger to the General Ledger in CORE
  • Maintains relationships with Sales Operation teams across the organization, working cross functionally to research and resolve customer issues related to billings and inventory management.
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with state sales and use tax regulations.
  • Contributes to development of improvements and optimizations on a continual basis (e.g., forms; processes; procedures; software utilization)
  • Must be competent in troubleshooting complex billing challenges, identifying and prioritizing gaps in processes.
  • Works with Finance Business Operations Manager on interim solutions for business-critical needs; must have ability to quickly assess unfamiliar situations and provide remediation, including modifying standard processes to address longer term issues.
  • Opportunities to transformation, improve productivity and streamline business operations.
  • Manage billing escalations and reports issues along the process chain.
  • Consistent application of best practice, productivity, and adherence to internal controls for billing compliance and compliance with governmental rules and regulations.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of billing system improvements.
  • Ensure audit compliance in all related functions.
  • Responsible to participate in external audits as they relate to billing functions and inventory reporting.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS in business and/or
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance Business Operations
  • Significant experience and advanced skills using Excel
  • Experience with Oracle a plus

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Solid understanding of billing and revenue financial concepts
  • Track record of meeting/exceeding assigned goals and objectives
  • Interest in improving processes and problem- solving
  • Resolves problems and communicates status in a timely manner
  • Excellent project- and time-management abilities and strong follow-through skills required
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of individuals within the department, company and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Able to work in stressful situations with firm deadlines
