Overview/Position Summary

Provides services to assist Designers and Sales personnel to meet project goals and deadlines. They would provide design support, specification, presentation development, file management, research and much more.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs field verifications at project sites
  • Drafts building floor plans in AutoCad
  • Plot and Revise drawings
  • Assists with furniture inventories
  • Assists with the selections and documentation of ancillary products
  • Assist with research for products and lead time information (furniture, accessories, etc.)
  • Generating and maintaining project CAD files – keep records in OWP network following design standards
  • Research and organization on project information
  • Maintain project spreadsheet with furniture specification information
  • Collect product images, assist with generating Power Point or InDesign presentations
  • Request and maintain furniture fabric and finish samples
  • Occasional trips to south bay clients and OWP Santa Clara are required

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Design discipline. Associate’s Arts Degree or equivalent will be considered
  • 1- 3 plus years’ design experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in a variety of software: AutoCAD 2014 required, CET Designer, 20/20 CAP, Google Sketchup, MS Power Point, MS Excel, Adobe Photo Shop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
  • Understanding of CAD and knowledge of building codes desired
  • Requires extreme attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline driven industry
  • Ability to take direction and provide friendly, professional service to internal staff and clients
  • Time management skills and ability to take ownership for project deliverables
  • Good customer service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterity, and ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, ability to get to project sites
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Complex reading and writing skills, basic math skills, judgement/decision making, analysis/comprehension

Working Environment 

  • Regularly works alone or may with others face to face, over the phone and through email
  • Generally, works in an office environment with moderate noise
  • Nature of work may require time spent out of the office
  • Periodically works outside and may work around moving objects, dust and dirt
